Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach

It’s one of the biggest festivals of the summer and it’s taking place just a short distance from your Destin or Fort Walton Beach home rental. It’s time for the Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival!

The 60th annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival will be in full swing in downtown Fort Walton Beach this weekend. If you are new to the area or have never ventured out to experience this event, we highly encourage you to grab the family and check it out.

Billy and his band of pirates have made it their mission to capture the city since the 1050’s. Visitors and locals have made it their mission to defend the fair city from the Fort Walton Beach Landing. Tonight, gather at The Landing for food, music, and Billy Bowlegs first attempt on the city. Some of the best fireworks of the year will follow at 9pm. The festival will reopen Saturday with Billy making his final attempt at 4pm.

On Monday, the city celebrates with the Torchlight Parade down Eglin Parkway. Bring your little buccaneers out to line the street as you collect candy, cups, beads and other pirate booty at 7pm. We hope to see everyone out enjoying the festival in Fort Walton Beach this weekend!
