Handy Tips – Running Toilets!

We’ve all been there. You get up in the middle of the night for nature and then promptly fall back into bed – only to hear the toilet run. And run. And run.

While you can always call your property manager or any member of our Gulf Coast property management team, there are a few tricks and easy repairs you can make when this problem arises. The first, and best to use for that middle of the night noise, is to jiggle the handle. You’ve probably heard this but it works by reengaging the flapper which may have become misaligned at the last flush. If the problem proceeds beyond once or twice, there are some easy instructions you can follow to see if you’re flapper is engaging at all. If it is not, you may need to make this easy repair to escape constantly jiggling the handle.
