Three Places to Get Away from the Crowds in Coastal Alabama

dsc_0630Want to enjoy a relaxing time away from the crowds in Coastal Alabama? If you live along the coast in a long-term rental in Daphne or surrounding areas, the answer is probably a resounding yes! We love our visitors to the Gulf Coast, but sometimes it’s nice to take a break and unwind in nature. We have a few suggestions for those looking for adventures that are off the beaten path.

One of Coastal Alabama’s best-kept secrets is the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Literally translated as “Safe Harbor,” this area was designated in 1980 as a habitat for migrating birds. Hundreds of songbirds stop over each year during their migration during the fall and spring seasons. Bon Secour has trails that are great for birdwatching and public beaches for swimming and sunbathing.

The second place on our list is the Graham Creek Nature Preserve in the small town of Foley, Alabama. This preserve offers 500 acres of natural wildlife habits, hiking cialis online without rx trails, and bike paths. There is a kayak and canoe launch area as well.

Another off-beat place to visit with a lot of personality is Barber Marina in Alberta, Alabama. As you drive towards the area, you may notice a sign that warns there will be dinosaurs crossing up ahead. This sets the tone as once you are at the marina you can spend the day hanging with a life-size statue of a T-Rex, a giant spider, and exploring Bamahenge (Alabama’s version of Stonehenge). If you travel to the marina by boat, don’t worry, you will be greeted by the large Lady in the Lake installation just outside the docks.

There are plenty of awesome areas of Coastal Alabama to explore and have a great time away from the seasonal crowds. If you live in a long-term rental in Daphne, or anywhere along Coastal Alabama, be sure to get out and enjoy living in one of the most beautiful areas of America!
