Weekend Events Along the Coast

It’s Mardi Gras weekend along the Gulf Coast which means there are tons of great events to get out and enjoy! Whether you rent a Destin home, live long term in South Walton or lease in Panama City Beach, you will find fun nearby.

In Destin, enjoy festivities all weekend long at the Destin Commons. The fun will kick off tonight at 6pm during Mardi Gras Masquerade. This evening parade features 30 floats and dozens of people on parade, each throwing treasures and trinkets. Kids can even participate by decorating their own Mardi Gras mask!

In South Walton you will find a variety of events. The biggest is without a doubt the annual SanDestin Gumbo Festival. This will kickoff tonight with a crawfish boil at 4pm, with the main gumbo cookoff and tasting taking place Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, make your way to Seaside for the Mardi Gras Kids Parade at noon and concert at 2pm.

If you happen to live in a Panama City Beach rental home, Pier Park is the place to be. Grab your family and line the streets of the popular shopping center on Friday evening or Saturday afternoon to enjoy costume contests, parades, live entertainment and fireworks!
