Enjoy Gumbo in Destin!

Tired of the cold weather? Venture out of your Destin long term rental and warm up with a steaming bowl of gumbo at the Destin Community this Saturday! You won’t want to miss the annual Destin History and Fishing Museum Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction.

Taking place on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11AM, this gumbo event is a local tradition loved by residents and visitors to our area. Sampling will take place until 2PM. During this time you can also bid on the items up for grabs in the silent auction.

Have a great gumbo recipe of your own? Sign up to compete! Both individuals and favorite area restaurants will have entries into this event. Past culinary entries include those from Fisherman’s Wharf, Dewey Destin’s and The Back Porch. The best part? The proceeds from this event benefit the Destin History and Fishing Museum, dedicated to perserving our loca history. We hope to see you there!
