After months of searching, you have finally found the perfect rental in Destin. It is only a matter of time now before you are handed the keys and start to add your personal touch to the place. However, before you decide what where the furniture will be placed, it is important to get to know your property.
By this we do not mean the layout, location or even your neighbors. Once the line is signed and you have access to your new rental, you should look for your breaker box and find where the stove, hot water heater and air conditioner breakers are. These things are often overlooked with the chaotic nature of moving and while not as glamorous as decorating can be, familiarity with these things can come in handy in the long run.
Another thing to keep in mind is the water shut off for the home. You will typically find this in the front yard near the home, close to a front spigot.
