Get Refreshed for Spring

Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring is right around the corner, but why wait to start with your spring cleaning? Get ahead of the curve with our spring cleaning tips, with everything from deep cleaning to refreshing your decor in favor of a brighter color palette.

Cleaning Tips

Spring Cleaning TipsIf you have lemons in the fridge that you’ve forgotten about, don’t throw them out just yet! Make your faucets sparkling clean by rubbing half a lemon on any hard water stains in the sink or bathtub. Then, use the other half to clean your microwave. Squeeze the juice into half a cup of water and drop the rinds into the bowl. Microwave for three minutes and let stand for five. Don’t open the door while it stands! Then, after the five minutes are up, wipe your microwave down with a sponge or paper towel.

Meanwhile, put old newspapers to work by using them to clean dirty windows and mirrors. Simply mix 1/4 cup white vinegar, 2 cups of water, and 2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap into a spray bottle. Scrub away for a streak-free mirror!

Pet owners – does your furry friend leave behind hair faster than you can clean it? For rental homes with carpet or rugs, use a window squeegee to get all that hard-to-remove pet hair from the surface. Use a firm grip on the rubber edge to grip and remove pet hair with ease. Vacuum up any excess hair afterward.

Decor Tips

Hang up the velvet and the fleece in favor of lighter kinds of cotton and linens. These breezy fabrics will give your home a lightweight feel while helping you beat the heat! Additionally, adding a bright rug to your living room or bedroom will help liven up the place!

Swapping out your bedding is a great way to prepare for the spring seasons. Not only can you go with a whole new color palette (hello breezy blues and crisp whites!), but you can also stow away the heavier throw blankets you’re likely to use in the fall and winter.

When is the last time you reorganized your bookshelves? It’s so easy for bookshelves to gather clutter, creating an excess of visual noise. These days bookcases don’t just hold books – they can also store glassware, flowers, art, photos, and more. When it comes to organizing your space, let your creativity fly!
