Holiday Safety Tips
It Is Almost Time to Decorate for the Holidays!
We don’t know about you, but we are so excited to start decorating for the holidays! They will be here before you know it and it is never too soon to start preparing. If you are in a long-term rental along the Gulf Coast you will have to think logistically about where to put the Christmas tree, how to hang lights, etc. This way you can enjoy the holiday season without worrying about damaging your rental property in Destin, Fort Walton, or anywhere along the Coast. We have provided a couple of holiday safety tips to ensure your decorating dreams can come true!
Outlet for the Tree
Make sure where you choose to put the Christmas tree is nearby an outlet that isn’t overrun with other electronics. This way you can wrap your tree in lights and enjoy them each night without worrying about the safety of the socket.
Hang with Command Hooks
If you have found the perfect wreath for your door or window, consider hanging it with a command hook! This will keep the walls clear of too many nail holes and also won’t damage the paint.
Festive Décor that Creates No Mess
We have listed a couple of items below that add holiday cheer to your rental property without the added hassle of having to install it or hook it up to a power source.
- Decorative pillows for couches and beds.
- Centerpieces on your coffee table or dining table.
- Have your kids do arts and crafts and hang them on the refrigerator.
- Transform your coffee area into a hot chocolate station.
Keep Cooking to a Minimum
You may be tempted to cook a grand feast for your family or friends. Well, if you are not incredibly comfortable in the kitchen, consider hosting a potluck instead. Each guest can bring their own dish and it makes it easy for you to stay safe in the kitchen.
