Find Rental with a Low Credit Score

handing-over-the-keysRecent unemployment and the economic recession have slashed Americans’ credit scores. The good news is that the economy is rebounding, the bad news is that your credit score is not always as quick to bounce back. So, for those with a less than perfect credit score, scoring an Emerald Coast long term rental can be a bit of a struggle.

If you have missed a few credit card payments, there are still some ways to put a roof over your head.  You may just have to put a little more work into it. What is a good place to start? Consider addressing the issue head on. Before you apply for a rental, order your credit report and double check everything. Loans do not always indicate irresponsibility and it may be worth the added note to your report.

You can also build trust in other ways. For instance, try to collect recommendations from employers and past landlords, or consider a co-signer. This could be a family member with good credit or even a roommate to help provide your Northwest Florida landlord with some peace of mind.

If you are looking for a place to rent on the Emerald Coast, search our available listings from Port St. Joe to Pensacola. For more advice, contact our leasing agents at 1.877.342.1605.
