Halloween Safety Tips

Pumpkin PatchIt’s almost time for Halloween! That means a fun night with the kids but it’s also important to be safe. If you are enjoying a long-term rental in Pensacola, or anywhere along the Gulf Coast, here are some tips to make sure Halloween is fun and safe!

Stay well-lit! Make sure everyone in your family has a flashlight and can easily be seen by any drivers. It’s also a good idea to have a clear differentiator for you child since a lot of times there are several kids wearing the same costume.

Try to skip the mask. It can be difficult, but if you can, use makeup instead of a mask for your child’s Halloween costume. It’s easier for the child to breathe and see.

Plan your trick-or-treat routes in advance. Go online and plan out your walk so you know exactly where you are and how far away from your home you want to go before turning back.

Make sure you and your children wear comfortable shoes. You are going to be doing a lot of walking, so be sure that the night doesn’t get ruined by blisters.

Check the candy. Once you get home, sort through any candy and discard any that looks like it has been opened. Also, be sure to check any candy the children eat while trick-or-treating.

We hope you have a safe and a happy Halloween from all of our property managers in Pensacola!
