One of the easiest things you can do to keep your refrigerator running smoothly in your Gulf Coast rental home is to keep it clean. That sounds like a no-brainer, right? It is, but just be aware that spilled food can leak into parts unseen on this appliance and cause unforseen problems down the road, so clean any drips as soon as possible. Also, keep your icebox at the proper temperature of 37 degree Fahrenheit and your freezer at 0 degrees. This will not only keep your food at optimum freshness but also prevent mold and other unslightly issues from creeping up on you and your dinner.

Another handy tip, especially if you notice your fridge cycling on and off frequently, is to vacuum your coils. Simply take the hose attachment and run it along the edge of the appliance as seen above.
