Southern’s Swift Salsa ~ The Southern Circular’s Featured Recipe

This month we’re bringing you a local favorite, Southern’s Swift Salsa ~ The Southern Circular’s Featured Recipe. This friend and family favorite is sure to please at birthdays, days on the boat, football parties, barbecues, and everything in between! Whether you’re going to dress up an omelette for a refreshing take on something traditional or a side for Taco Tuesday, this quick salsa recipe will make you a superstar in the eyes of Foodies!

What you’ll need:

~ 1 Large Red Onion

Southern’s Swift Salsa

~ 1 Package of Cilantro

~ 4 Tomatoes (We prefer Roma, but any fresh tomatoes will do!)

~ 1/2 Cup White Wine Vinegar

~ 2 Limes

~ 2 Jalapeño Peppers

~ 15 Minutes

Preparation:

Lay everything out and appreciate what’s about to happen. You’re going to make some Southern Swift Salsa! From start to finish this should take you no more than 15 minutes and by minute 16 you can be eating! Let’s get started!

~ Dice the large red onion and jalapeños and place in the mixing bowl, pour all of the white wine vinegar on top. Mix thoroughly and let sit for five minutes to pickle.

Core the four tomatoes by cutting down the middle and scooping out the tomato seeds with a spoon. Dice the tomatoes, throw in the bowl with the red onion.

Chop some cilantro enough to give you 1/2 cup then toss into the mixing bowl.

Juice the limes then pour them into the mixing bowl.

Mix thoroughly, place an additional sprig of cilantro on top for aesthetics!
