Southern Rentals and Real Estate Flood Relief Fundraiser
Southern Rentals and Real Estate has pledged to help the flood victims of Louisiana and will donate $5 to the American Red Cross for each vacation reservation made from September 1st through the 15th, 2016. Please help us reach our goals as we extend our resources to the families and communities of Louisiana.
The areas of Baton Rouge and Lafayette were pummeled with nearly 7.1 trillion gallons of water over 10 days in August of 2016. Yes, that’s trillion. Hurricane Katrina didn’t even bring that much rain. In fact, the chance of that much rain dropping in such a small area is less than 0.1 percent. However, from August 12th to the 23rd that is exactly what happened. People were forced to evacuate, and families were driven from their homes as the downpour flooded the area. An estimated 146,000 homes and countless businesses were damaged by the storm. Analysts say that some parishes will never fully recover from this catastrophic event.
