The Destin Fishing Rodeo
Whether you rent a long-term rental with Southern or are one of our awesome owners, we want to make sure you don’t miss one of the most exciting events of the year – the Destin Fishing Rodeo!
This annual month-long event in Destin will kick off on October 1, 2013, with the seafood festival taking place the first weekend of the month. Come out to the docks of the harbor to enjoy live music, fireworks and, of course, plenty of delicious shrimp, fish and other Gulf treats. If you fish, you will want to be serve to reserve a remaining local charter boat so you can compete for prizes and awards during the rodeo. Or, if glory doesn’t matter, we know you will want to fish the Red Snapper, as the season will reopen just in time for the rodeo.
And, if you don’t fish, be sure to grab a space along the docks for the weigh-ins each night. Not only will you see some amazing catches come to shore, but also enjoy a fantastic evening sunset and our amazing Destin fall weather.
